The DONALD WRIGHT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP organization is making an award this year to a Rock Island senior track athlete based on their application provided to the Rock Island guidance department. The applications will be evaluated by the five member board and be awarded based on majority vote of this board. We are seeking applicants for the 2010 scholarship with a deadline of May 10, 2010. Also, the board is seeking contributions as an ongoing method of maintaining the fund balance. Any questions please contact JEFF EDWARDS.

We are planning to start a casual “get together” at the BLUE CAT BREW PUB (2nd floor) in downtown Rock Island. Plans are to meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month with a start time of 6:30 PM. The 1st “get together” will be Wednesday April 7th, 2010. Plan to come and have fun!

It starts on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 7:30 PM. We’ll be attending the Rocky vs Moline football game at the Rock’s stadium. After the game we’ll gather at Huckleberry’s Great Pizza & Calzones, located at 223 18th Street, downtown Rock Island.

On Saturday, September 18, 2010, we’ll continue the weekend activities at Jumers Casino and Hotel located at 777 Jumer Drive, Rock Island with a social hour from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. followed by a buffet meal. After the meal a short program and an auction will take place. Finally talking and reminiscing to midnight.

We still strongly think it’ll be Sep 17, 2010. Our plans so far are a football game Friday night followed by going to Huckleberry’s 223 18th St, Rock Island. Saturday night at Jumer’s Casino/Hotel located off of I-280 and Hwy 92 in Rock Island. We have a room reserved for a banquet meal. Stay tuned!

Mark your calendars for our next “Class of ’68” Birthday Party at which we will be celebrating 60 years (Oh my!). Date is tentatively set for September 17th and 18th, 2010! More details to follow.
