Dear Classmates,

It’s been an unusual year so far and our reunion/birthday committee voted to cancel the celebration of our 70^th birthdays this year because of the coronavirus.  Our birthday party was scheduled to be celebrated on Saturday, July 18 the day before the Don Wright Memorial Golf Outing, which also got canceled due to this pandemic.  It’s just not worth the risk of the unknown as far as spreading this virus, and who knows Illinois may still require the wearing of face masks, social distancing of 6 feet and not allowing gatherings of over 50 people by mid July. 

We have high hopes that we’ll get to gather and party next year.  It may be more fun to celebrate in 2021 as we’ll have settled into being 70 and treasure each other’s friendship even more deeply!!

Reunion Committee

We’re playing it safe – we pray you are too!  Originally, that is before this coronavirus pandemic, you would’ve received your invitation to our 70^th birthday party last week. We called the printers last Monday and put a hold on the printing production. We are hoping for the best and maybe we’ll still get to keep our date of Saturday, July 18; time will only tell. One thing for sure is, we’ll keep you posted. Again, be careful if you have to go out and about ‘cause you are special to our RIHS Class of 68!

Welcome to 2020! 

Our RIHS Class of 1968 is planning to celebrate our 70^th birthdays; yes, our entire class.  Some classmates have already turned 70, some are turning 70 soon and some will be celebrating their birthdays late in 2020.  But we’re all entering into a new decade!

We have reserved Saturday, July 18, 2020 to have our birthday party at River Front Grille in Rock Island beginning @ 5pm and then on Sunday, July 19 we’ll conclude with golf or volunteering at the Don Wright Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing at Highland Springs in Milan.  A more formal invite will be mailed out late winter, but please note your calendar with these dates!
